Don't believe the criticisms of present-day Serie A posted on 06/11/2009
If you were to read any article about Serie A, you would think it was on the verge of collapse. The favorite points are
always the same, how the Premier League and La Liga have more money and that the big stars of Serie A are all leaving for these "superior" leagues. Also they enjoy remarking about the old stadiums and how violent Italian soccer fans are. Lets look at these criticisms carefully. Sure, this isn't the highest point in the history of the Italian top flight. However, do not let the media convince you of all these so fast. The big spending ways of the other top two leagues will eventually catch up with them. Manchester United even showed that they are not the financial superpower that they want you to believe when they immediately accepted the bid for Ronaldo, and I'll guarantee that not all of the money will be respent, given the massive debt the club has on its shoulders.
